Rwanda exhibits best at Tourism fair in Berlin

Rwanda‘s 13th participation at the ITB

Rwanda Tourism; For the first time , the northern corridor countries; Kenya, Rwanda and Uganda shared one of the pavilion in which they launched the single tourist Visa. This will ease travel for the visitors coming for safaris in the region, be launched at the ITB Belin 2014. The three countries were ranked among the top five countries at the ITB Berlin Fair; where each of the countries showcased different iconic attractions and the traditional dancers revealing the diversity of the East African destination.

This recognition is also important as it is evident that the market is responding positively to our region. Also being among the top five African exhibitors is proof of that our safari region is a preferred destination on the continent. We will continue to work together to reap fruits from these new arrangements in the northern corridor. The country was also represented by Rwanda Development Board; and was selected best continental exhibitor at the ITB in Berlin. The other countries in this category also include; Burundi, Kenya and Uganda.

The countries were evacuated according to the numerous criteria like the interactivity, authenticity, creativity, sustainability, design of the stand; and the service quality and many more which can help the safari industry to improve. Rwanda’s exhibitors were knowledgeable, interactive with the many clients, approachable, the uniqueness of the stand, the ambiance and the traditional dance entertainment from the Rwanda National ballet.

Rwanda emerged top continental winner at the ITB Berlin Tourism fair in 2010, 2009, 2008 and also in 2007. This country in 2009, was the only African country to be honored with one of the seven outstanding wards at the World Travel Market exhibition in London. This was for its excellent customer service, professionalism and the doing business atmosphere at the stand. This safari country also attracted over 1,137,000 visitors; and this generated US $ 293.6 million USD which indicated 4% increase compared to the same period in 2012.
